Alexander, Dottie - multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, she plays in several bands including Of Montreal, Summer Hymns, Marshmallow Coast, and Great Lakes. Also has her own solo project called My First Keyboard.

Allen, Eric - bass player of Apples in Stereo as well as Perry Weissman 3. Has a solo, experimental recording project called AWN. Also owns and runs the record label Shrat Field Recordings with his cousin.

Almstead, Derek - one of the founding members of the band Of Montreal. Also currently plays in Summer Hymns, Marshmallow Coast and Great Lakes. Renowned as a bass player but also quite proficient on drums. Co-engineer at World As Myth Studios in Athens.

Always Red Society - A pseudonym used by W.Cullen Hart of the Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System for solo recordings. A cassette was self-released via E6 around 1993. The band name was also referred to in the lyrics of the song "Define a Transparent Dream" by the Olivia Tremor Control on their album Dusk at Cubist Castle.

Apples in Stereo - One of the three "founding" bands of the Elephant 6 Collective. Based in Denver, Colorado. The band consists of main songwriter Robert Schneider on guitar & lead vocals, Hilarie Sidney on drums & backing vocals, Eric Allen on bass & backing vocals, John Hill on guitar & backing vocals, and Chris McDuffie on keyboards & backing vocals.

Athens - city in Georgia which is the "headquarters" of the E6 East division.

AWN - experimental side project of Eric Allen, bass player of Apples in Stereo and Perry Weissman 3. Has released one CD on the Perhaps Transparent label.

Bablicon - Chicago experimental, free-jazz trio that consists of Jeremy Barnes, Dave McDonald, and Griffin Rodriguez. They also like to use the aliases Marta Tennae, The Diminisher, and Blue Hawaii respectively when performing in this group.

Barnes, David - brother of Kevin Barnes (who's the lead singer of the band Of Montreal), David has done the album artwork on the Of Montreal records Gay Parade, Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies, An Introduction to, Early 4-Track Recordings and Bird Who Ate the Rabbit's Flower as well as many of the band's t-shirts. Also goes by the aliases The Bee With Wheels and Lecithin Emulsifier.

Barnes, Jeremy - multi-instrumentalist but primarily the drummer of Bablicon, The Gerbils and Neutral Milk Hotel. He sometimes also plays and records under the guise Marta Tennae.

Barnes, Kevin - mulit-instrumentalist and leader of the band Of Montreal. Also plays in Marshmallow Coast and Great Lakes. His brother ,David Barnes, is responsible for the artwork on most of the Of Montreal albums.

Clay Bears - One of the big mysteries of the E6. Apparently a super-group of some sort from the Ruston-era. The band had a revolving door line-up which at some points included such people as Scott Spillane, Jeff Mangum & Will Westbrook. They are thanked in the liner notes of Neutral Milk Hotel's album On Avery Island.

Doss, Bill - One of the four "founding" artists of the Elephant Six Collective. Originally from Ruston, Louisiana where he began playing in bands with his friends in high school. Some of these bands included Fat Planet, Sunshine Fix, Synthetic Flying Machine, Chocolate USA. Later he went on to form The Olivia Tremor Control after moving to Athens, Georgia. Currently records solo material under the names The Bill Doss and Sunshine Fix and is the engineer at World As Myth Studios in Athens.

Lecithin Emulsifier - another alias used by David Barnes (brother of Kevin Barnes of the band Of Montreal). He's responsible for most artwork on Of Montreal's albums.

Maggot - Early 90's Ruston, Louisiana high school band that included W. Cullen Hart (Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System) and Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel). Described by Jeff as a "white noise band with no socially redeeming value".

Schneider, Robert - "Patriarch" of the Elephant 6 Collective, leader of the Apples in Stereo, and all around nice guy! Originally born in South Africa, his family moved to Ruston, Louisiana when he was still young. There he began playing in bands with his friends in high school and co-founded E6 with pals Bill Doss, Will Cullen Hart and Jeff Mangum. After moving to Denver to attend the University at Boulder, he started the Apples in Stereo and eventually built his own studio called Pet Sounds with friend Jim McIntyre (of Von Hemmling). Robert also records solo material under the names The Marbles and Orchestre Fantastique. He's married to Apples drummer Hilarie Sidney and they have one son, Maxwell.
